LifeGroup Biographies

 Goodenow's LifeGroup

We have been together for 4 1/2 years, since we came together with 6 couples for the Purpose Driven Life study. We have grown and changed together as people have had babies, moved, invited friends to join, gone thru illnesses, trials and deaths of loved ones.  We have learned to trust the Lord more as we have prayed together, studied his Word together and been committed to each other thru both good times and bad.  We have definitely learned to "do life together" as our relationships extend much further from our biweekly meetings into our everyday lives. 

Besides our biweekly meetings as a group, the woman do summer bible studies together and play dates for the kids.  The men meet on Fridays for a breakfast bible study.  Most families bring their kids along to our group and we share a babysitter.  We currently meet at our house each time, but have experimented rotating homes in the past as well as providing babysitters versus not providing babysitters, etc. 

After PDL, we spent several years studying different books of the Bible (i.e. Hosea, Luke, Revelation, Acts, Psalms) or specific biblical passages (i.e. 1 Corinthians 13).  We then each prepared and shared our testimony with the group, which helped us get to know each other and bond deeper.  We followed up with the Truth Project and are currently doing the CBS study "God's Amazing Book" which gets us further into God's Word. 

We have always prayed that this would be the Lord's ministry in the midst of our group and that He would grow and develop it as best glorifies Him.  It has been such a blessing for each person involved as we have become like family to each other.
