Simply put, we want you to know God better and to love Him more passionately. E4U is a new learning environment for adults and teenagers designed to help you grow in your understanding of God and his Word. Based on four spiritual formation themes, E4U offers entry-level classes for new believers as well as more challenging topics for those who wish to dive deeper.
Think Life Change: we wish to provide an atmosphere where lives can be changed.
Cultivate Community: we believe spiritual formation happens best within relationships.
Promote Participation: we value shared participation because it creates broad ownership.
Build Leaders: we seek to help you discover and develop your leadership capabilities.
Provide Care: we will do more than educate, we will serve and minister to each other.
Multiply Influence: we desire to see God’s kingdom expanded and his name magnified.
We've created four spiritual formation themes that serve as areas of focus for our classes. Each class we offer will fit into one of these four categories:
Encounter: Developing personal spiritual growth habits.
Elevate: Applying God’s direction in your life.
Equip: Understanding God and His Word.
Engage: Using your unique SHAPE in ministry to God and others.
Since your kids are coming here for 24/7 and you're coming for an E4U class, why not just come a little early and enjoy dinner together? We'll be offering dinner from Nicolo's for just $4 per person or $10 for your whole family (as a recommended donation). There's no reservation required, just stop in beginning at 5:30 pm and have some dinner with us! (We have to clean up from dinner starting at 6:30, so don't be late!)
All Classes begin March 16 and run through April 13. Class times are 6:45-8 pm on Tuesday evenings. Please select the class that best meets your spiritual needs.
Each class has a fee, but scholarships are available. For questions on scholarships, or anything related to E4U, contact Ken Hensley at 303.471.9644 x39 or at ken.hensley@mountainviewfamily.org.

Encounter: Life of David
Teacher: Tim Rodgers
Course Description: Let's learn about the great king of Israel. David was a man after God's own heart, with failures and successes, human in every sense of the word. He was selfless for God, selfish for himself, prideful, and humble. His love for others was alive, his love and honor of God is a testament that stands forever, just as God promised. David was a leader we can learn from, in a five week adventure.
Teacher Bio: Tim was raised in a Christian home in Texas with Godly parents, brought up in baptist churches, saved and baptized at age 11. Tim married his wife Debbie in 1980 and will celebrate their 30th anniversary this year. Their son Tom is a proud member of the U.S. Air Force repairing F-15E Jet Fighters.
"I have hidden your word in my heart." Remaining active in church through the years, Tim has served as a teacher of children, youth, and adults for some 25 years. He has been privileged to preach at home and abroad, serve as a Youth Minister, Deacon, and has worn plenty of other hats. Debbie and Tim have been part of Mountainview since the days of Sand Creek, about ten years or so.
Tim currently teaches 5 & 6th grade, and serves on the communion team with Debbie. She also runs the video for our Celebration Center services.
Tim's blessing is his family and friends, and his joy is the opportunities provided to him to serve, his peace is in His Word, and his strength is in Christ.

Equip: Philippians
Teacher: Ken Hensley
Course Description: Just about everybody wants to find true happiness -- but life guarantees emotional ups and downs. In the book of Philippians, which is actually a letter that Paul wrote while in prison, the key words are "joy" and "rejoice". Paul knew the secret of inner joy that doesn't fade when things go wrong. Come share in understanding what true joy looks like, and how to keep it alive during life's trials.
Teacher Bio: Ken is the Pastor of Spiritual Formation at Mountainview. He came to Highlands Ranch after starting a new church in San Diego. He and his wife, Tonya, have been privileged to serve churches in San Diego, San Francisco, and Atlanta. The Hensley family includes two daughters — Hannah and Hope — as well as two cats who wish to remain anonymous.

Teacher Bio: Bill has ministered to teens and their families for twenty-five years as a public school teacher, soccer and track coach, Young Life director, and pastor to High School students at Whittier Hills Baptist Church in Whittier, CA. He and his wife, Debby, live in Highlands Ranch and have two children.
